Our Purpose

PetrolFinder.uk exists to help UK drivers find the cheapest fuel and share honest experiences at petrol stations across the country. Our community features — reviews and price confirmations — rely on contributions from real users like you. These guidelines ensure that everyone has a positive, helpful, and trustworthy experience.

Review Guidelines

Your reviews help other drivers choose the right station. Please follow these guidelines when writing reviews:

  • Be honest and factual. Share your genuine experience at the station. Only review stations you have actually visited.
  • No profanity or offensive language. Keep your language clean and respectful. Reviews containing profanity will be removed.
  • No URLs or promotional content. Reviews containing links or advertisements are automatically rejected.
  • Keep it concise. Reviews are limited to 140 characters. Focus on what matters most about your experience.
  • One review per station per week. You may submit one review per station every seven days to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Rate fairly. Use the 1 to 5 star rating to reflect your genuine experience. Consider factors like cleanliness, queue times, facilities, and staff helpfulness.

Price Confirmation Guidelines

Price confirmations help other drivers trust that the listed prices are accurate. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Only confirm prices you have verified. Confirm a price only if you have actually seen it displayed at the station or paid that price at the pump.
  • One confirmation per station per day. You may confirm a price at each station once every 24 hours.

Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on PetrolFinder.uk:

  • Hate speech and discrimination. Content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Personal information. Sharing personal information of others, including names, phone numbers, addresses, or any identifying details of station staff or other users.
  • Spam and commercial promotion. Unsolicited advertising, promotional content, or repeated identical posts.
  • Fake or misleading content. Fabricated reviews, false price confirmations, or any content intended to deceive other users.
  • Profanity and vulgar language. Swearing, obscenities, or sexually explicit content.
  • Threats and harassment. Threatening, bullying, or harassing language directed at individuals, businesses, or other users.

Enforcement

We take these guidelines seriously to maintain a trustworthy community. Here is how we enforce them:

  • All reviews and user-generated content are subject to automated and manual moderation.
  • Content that violates these guidelines will be removed without notice.
  • Users who repeatedly violate guidelines may receive a warning followed by a temporary or permanent account suspension.
  • In serious cases (such as hate speech or threats), accounts may be suspended immediately without prior warning.
